Sr Premium Auditor

Responsible for:

Examining and auditing policyholder’s records in order to determine proper premium base for insurance coverage provided.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performing or assisting the Regional Audit Supervisor in completing the more complex audits within his area.
  • Conduct audits to develop and classify premium base for coverage provided.
  • Examine policyholder’s payroll records, general ledger and journal, governmental reports, cash disbursement book, automobile registrations, depreciation schedules, and independent contractors records.
  • Plan work and schedule appointments to effectively and economically utilize available time.
  • When necessary, assist in the training of newly assigned junior premium auditors.
  • Allocate premium base according to proper code classifications.
  • Allocate proper adjustments for premium overtime, payroll limitations, and other applicable items.
  • Required to have personal contact with policyholders and agents and to communicate with Regional Office personnel in person, by telephone, or through written correspondence.
  • Write reports on audits in sufficient detail to convey complete information.
  • Attend Home Office and Regional Office meetings as required.

Education:

  • Associate degree in accounting or other related field or equivalent business experience.

Experience:

  • 3-4 years field experience.
